Title: ALB on Vista
Post by: Adrian on December 27, 2007, 02:44:01 PM
Hi, ALB runs great on Vista with just one small bug that I have noticed. The function to automatically start the PRPCD daemon if it is not running doesn't work quite right.

When an item is double clicked and PRPCD is not running then ALB has a go at starting PRPCD but fails. It opens the "Select Pyton Script" dialog but appears not to type anything into the file name box. If I leave the dialog open, go back to ALB which by now has decided something is wrong and has opened the "Could not reach PRPC" dialog and click the "Run PRPC and retry" button then it successfully runs PRPC.

This is the only issue I have encountered on Vista. Its the same on 32 or 64 bit versions.

Oh, the very latest beta V1.8.0.2 crashes the first few times it is run just after it has said to click the syncronise button to create the empty library. This goes away after a while.. I am not sure what actually fixes it. A reboot seemed to help.

PRPC starting will work with Vista with the next beta update.
