Hi:
The Advanced Library for Poser is better than any commercial alternative out there. I was just about to bite the bullet and make one myself when I found out about ALP.
Thank you very much.
However, there are a few features that I would really like.
- The ability to read text, html, and pdf files (perhaps just using the native web browser)
- The ability to virtually rename a directory. For example, I have the Morphing Fantasy Dress and tons of textures for it. I don't want to manually rename all these directories, because I like to maintain the original directory structure so I can download updates more easily. Most people are sensible about naming conventions, but some people have different throughts. For example, one of the most used FX files on my system has the directories: "character/Anton's FX" and "pose/majik_mat". I'd like to be able to link these directories like you link your renamed directories, but without renaming anything except within ALP.
And thanks for the tags! They have made my life much easier.

Maybe with one of the next versions.

I use Window's regular shortcuts for that.
If I have for example Product A that includes items in the following paths:
runtime:textures:product_a:*.jpg
runtime:libraries:character:creator_of_a:*.cr2
runtime:libraries:pose:product_a:materials:*.pz2
Those get installed to:
R:\Poser\Runtime\_original\Store X\product_a_name\
Then I move the runtime:textures content to R:\Poser\ (so Poser finds the stuff).
Then I put shortcuts into my library like that:
R:\Poser\Runtime\libraries\character\clothes\V3\Product A.lnk (Directory-Link to R:\Poser\Runtime\_original\Store X\product_a_name\runtime\libraries\character\creator_of_a)
R:\Poser\Runtime\libraries\pose\clothes\V3\Product A.lnk (Directory-Link to R:\Poser\Runtime\_original\Store X\product_a_name\runtime\libraries\pose\product_a\materials)
As I have the character, pose, etc. library categories all organized the same way, I'm getting the clothing item together with the materials for it in the same AL folder. As I use regular shortcuts Poser will also be able to use that structure. And I retain the original product's file structure, too.

Thanks, I hoped they would, but I still thinking about an easier way to assing them.

Added in the latest version (http://www.neocron.webspaceforme.net/library/downloads/).
