Title: Advanced Library on the Mac
Post by: Dizzi on October 22, 2008, 08:23:43 PM
Anyone want to try AL on the Mac?

I got it running on Linux using Mono (http://mono-project.com/Main_Page), so if you're running  OS X 10.3 or better, you should be able to run it on the Mac, too.

Hi Dizzi

I am not using a Mac but would be interested in an Ubuntu version - I've just be looking at the Mono website - have installed the framework on my Ubuntu partition - have Poser installed using WINE  - so AL would be next step :)

Hi Martin, did you try running AL using WINE? The Mono version has some problems with the context menus when reaching the monitor boundaries last time I tried it on a linux VM, so if it works with WINE, it's probably better to use AL that way. But I'll send you the mono version, if there are problems with WINE. I really don't want to bother too much with Mono if there's no Mac user interested and AL runs fine using WINE (and as long as there's no native Linux version of Poser).

I did try running it in WINE but nothing happened - I think that I didn't have the net framework in Linux installed will check and get back to you on that.  I'm still finding my way around Ubuntu.

This is an error I've been getting in WinXP:
The index files are 0 bytes but the XML file is correct.

I've used this program for so long that I forget how to set some of the new features up - or am too lazy ;) to set them up

The available download versions cannot be used on the Mac. Please send me a PM with your e-mail address, I'll then prepare a Mac version.

Hi!!!

I just have know AL now after reading about it on DAZ Forum's post. I am tell you that I hate the Poser Library Management and this seems is what I am looking for. I am on Mac OS X 10.5.7 and I would like to test, beta test and help to run AL. I downloaded Mono Frameworks because I think is necessary to run AL. Can you send me the files and instructions? FYI, sometimes I run Windows on my Mac Pro, but I confess that I am not platform agnostic. ;D
