Title: Very basic question
Post by: ladylynx on March 21, 2009, 05:25:23 AM
I'm a newbie at Poser and organizing my runtimes has been a nightmare.  I was really excited to have found your program because I can't stand Poser's library - makes no sense to me.  Anyway - I downloaded the most recent Beta version and I'm a bit confused.

Can you give me a bit more clarification about using the "collections" folder and copying the whole file to that?  I know this may seem like a very, very basic question, but I've gotten myself completely confused here.

Thanks.

The first thing that needs to be done is to set the Poser version you want to use the Collection Tools for:
- switch to the "Settings" tab
- then on the "Load into ... / Applications" tab choose Poser
- Check "Enable Content Collection Tools for Poser Version:" and type the Poser version in the following field (currently only "7" or "Pro" make sense)

Having done that you can either export the whole tree you have set up in Advanced Library (meaning all files and folder you can browse via the library tab) to Poser's Content Collection so you can browse it inside Poser or you can just copy individial files or folders.
Exporting everything is done from the "Settings" tab. After you enable the collection tools above there's another menu entry besides "Synchronize Library" and that is "Exprot to Poser Content Collection".
To export a file: from the file's context menu choose "Load"->"Copy to Content Collection".
To export a folder: from the folders context menu choose "Copy to Content Collection". You're then prompted to choose the folder where you want the files to be copied too - Poser's root content collection folder will be preselected.

Hope this helps to answer your question :-)

Thanks.  I had done all of that, but when I click on the export link, it gives me a message saying that it can't find poser 7 folder or content collection.

I'm still missing something here.....Is there something I need to do in Poser to pull the content in there?

Thanks.

Please try this version (http://neocron.webspaceforme.net/library/installer/Advanced_Library_1_9_1_8.zip) (if you're not already using it). If it still doesn't work, please tell me which OS you're using.

Still not working.  I did download the newest version.  On my load into/applications, I have checked "enable Content Collection Tools for Poser 7" and "Load Content Collection"     When I click on the icon to export the content, it tells me still "Can not find Poser 7 or contentfolder."

I am using windows xp.

Thanks.

Are you using an e-frontier Poser 7? I did remove the check for e-frontier since the last Poser SR changes all versions to Smith Micro versions...

Is there any reason why you don't install the latest Service Release?
