Title: AL expiring
Post by: bean on December 01, 2012, 10:33:27 PM
Version 1.9.2.15 says it's expiring. Is there another update coming?

That's what I would like to know too.

Dizzi, I'd be perfectly happy to keep working with the old version, could you please disable the expiry date? Without AL I'll have a serious problem :(

New version available. When it expires it'll tell you how to use it anyway ;-)

Dizzy please can you make a non expiring release, beta or not?

Also consider selling this in one of the poser marketplaces or on your page yourself, I will surely by it. One that never expires.

Users need to use it without time limit, anyway. Your software is much better than any other library solution, and it is terrible that some of us have huge libraries already done with it, and if something happens, we will loose it all.

Please consider doing one of those two: releasing it without expiration for free, or selling a non-expirable one. Many of us would love to get it either way.

OK, no problem. I saw the beta says a message about using the parameter override_expiration. For those who don't know how to do it, just do a bat file in Windows.

With any plain text editor, make a file with extension .bat

Then inside these 2 lines:

start "AL" "Advanced_Library.exe"  - - override_expiration
EXIT

Use this bat file as a launcher, just double click it, and it will run the beta, expired or not.

Thanx jordirc. Totally missed that message :-\ I've added the parameter to my shortcut and it works.

Your welcome! I was very frightened because I feared I couldn't use this library anymore and now there is no problem to continue using the beta.

My hero!
Thank you very much for this workaround. I wouldn't know what to do without my AL.
And I agree, I'd willingly buy it as it is, beta or not.
