Title: Status Bar and Object Type Indicator
Post by: acanthis on December 08, 2005, 07:32:22 AM
I know the various file types have colour coded borders, and you can see the full filename by hovering the mouse over the thumbnail, but would it be possible to have a status bar at the bottom of the window that shows this information? I tend to position AL off to one side of the screen and the popup tooltips fly off the edge. Also, because the filename includes the full path it's difficult to quickly read.

How about something like TYPE:NAME (with the full path omitted) appearing in the status bar as you hover?

Examples

POSE : Mike Vomiting.pp2

FIGURE : Dead Skunk.cr2

HAND : Broken Thumb.hd2

... and so on.

I changed the tooltip to only show the filename and added a statusbar to display the full path of the selected item, if you activated it via options... Does that help or are the names still flying off? (Updating the status bar while hovering didn't work too well, it didn't update every time...)

Much better.  It's not so much that I wanted to see the path, it was that I couldn't see the filename and type because they were on the end of a path that flew off the screen edge, but the new arrangement is much neater. Thanks.
