Title: AL
Post by: Indoda on April 17, 2006, 04:20:20 PM
Hi Dizzi:
I haven't written to you for a while - guess everything was going alright with the betas.  I have been updating each time and as far as Poser has been concerned I haven't had any problems.   It performs all day everyday without failure.  :)

I decided I could afford D|S  ;D so I am now testing it out with AL.  I need to clarify things:
1) Set D|S import menu item shortcut Ctrl I
2) Choose a Ctrl something for AL
3) This is where I'm not sure - what has to have focus in D|S for this to work properly?  My first figure will load just fine then the second one will either give D|S not running or just fail. I'm doing something wrong - I need AL for Dummies Book even now!!  ::)

Keep up the great work - would you like some help on creating the help file?

I'll get the latest DS version, to see if it might be the source of the problem.

Does that also happen when you load via double clicking into Studio?

You mean double clicking in D|S content window?

I did notice that ctrl i is used by another menu item so tried alt ctrl i but that also failed after the first load.  I noticed that sometimes, if manually using the keyboard, D|S required two sets of alt ctrl i  to open the import window.  I guess you are sending the keystrokes to D|S having established its name by code.   Do you take into account the window name changes a file is saved?
Does it work for you?
Good luck,
Indoda

Hehe, i actually never saved a Studio file ;-) This should work for that. (http://neocron.webspaceforme.net/library/installer/Advanced_Library_1_0_6_7.zip)

But it shouldn't react any different on successive calls, as it always does the same... Maybe I should try to simulate a drag/drop operation that wouldn't require the import window to open.

I'll give this a spin tomorrow and let you know - busy rendering  . . .

Never saved a D|S file - come on they're not that bad surely!?   ;D
I was trying to take my beta testing seriously :)

Hi Dizzi,

Spoke too soon - it works better than before but also stops after a while   :(  Weird.  Does the clipboard get emptied each call? Is there a delay? Something happens to it ~

Does closing and restarting AL help or is it still not working then?

Restarting AL helps - I'm trying a different key  Alt I, at present,  I'm wondering if D|S was having a problem with ctrl alt I.  Here's a question that I should know the answer to but have forgotten :  Does it matter to the receiving program in which order it gets the keystrokes?  or are they being sent as a scancode?    cuz in D|S on the menu it was Ctrl Alt i  in AL it was Alt Ctrl i is there any difference? It's not a major problem so don't spend too much time on it if no one else is using D|S and AL it works great for Poser and that's the biggest plus.

Have a good one,
Indoda

I don't really see why the behaviour should change after some time, but I've added some delay between activating the Studio window and sending the keycodes with the latest version. Maybe that helps.
