Title: Advanced Library won't run on my system
Post by: Kalypso on December 23, 2006, 02:24:08 PM
I just downloaded and installed Advanced Library 1.0.0.6 .  I tried running just the application like the instructions said but I got nowhere.  Next I tried installing and although it shows up in my start menu when I select acb/Advanced Library nothing happens.   I even ran the Net Framework installation again to repair any errors.  I have a number of software that use the Net Framework and they are all running well so I suppose it might be something else on my system preventing it from running or something very simple I'm overlooking.   Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does that happen with the latest beta, too?

I tried the beta that adds Poser 7 support and that didn't work either :(
So I went back one more beta and installed 1_0_7_7 and that works although i always get this message before it starts up:
"Could not load index file. Use "Sychronize Library" to create a new index.  But then it works fine - with Poser 6 that is.  Hopefully the next beta you release with P7 support will run on my system :)

Oh and one more thing, in the Settings tab under General I don't have anything, just wondering if that's normal.

Yes, the general tab doesn't contain anything in that version I think.

It's a bit weird that those versions aren't working though. You can check the AL_log.txt for any error messages though (located in "Documents and Settings\[user]\Local settings\Temp").

The error message about the index file will disappear once you click on "Synchronize library" on bottom of the settings tab. It'll take a while to synchronize (depending on library size) but then you can use the synchronized library and search functionality.
