Feature Requests / A New Feature
Last post by thatoneguy1987 - December 02, 2011, 06:53:54 PM
Today while using AL I thought of a useful new feature (If it exists I'm unsure how to use it) (and if it doesn't I'm unsure how to make it happen, so I can't help with that unfortunately).

It'd be really cool to have a button or a search function or something like that to display all the items in the library that are currently not yet tagged.

General AL Discussion / Re: Tag Groups

Nvm I just figured it out completely by accident.
For future people with the same question select the tag group (right click anywhere in the box) and click add tag then it will form the hierarchy under the tag group. If you just want to add a new tag make sure that the tag group is not selected when right clicking.

Feature Requests / Feature Requests

The only Features I'd like to see are a tutorial and a password rules change.

It'd be my guess that the majority of people coming to the forum (based on the high view counts and very low forum membership) are doing exactly what I almost did when I first came across the forum.

- That is get here and decide if I want to register to yet another site with yet another password to keep track of. Normally I would (at this point decide to uninstall the program, move on, find another program that had readme files or something like that. But looking at the program I saw too much potential to turn back and decided I'd use my common password that I use for everything that doesn't contain personal info or a credit card (makes remembering passwords for the thousands of sites that required me to register easier).
When I got to the registration process I had to fill out 3 different times (each one me thinking maybe I should just turn away, uninstall and move on).
1st time error- password needs to be 8 characters long (that already rules out my common use password)
2nd time error- password needs to contain numbers or special characters.
3rd time error- password needs to contain some capitalization.

It got very frustrating along with a more and more complicated password to remember (and for such a low level security threat, in other words no personal info or credit cards, it seemed completely unnecessary).

I also didn't see any of these requirements/specifications for the password on the registration page and each time it'd come back with a new error (instead of a compiled error specifying all the problems with my password choice.

I think if these two things were taken care of usage of the program and registration for the forums would go up.

General AL Discussion / Tag Groups
Last post by thatoneguy1987 - December 01, 2011, 08:14:46 PM
How do I make these? Under the tags tab I formed a tag group then I clicked on a tag and asked it to merge with a parent group.... but it deleted the tag all together and my tag group still isn't able to be applied to files/folders.

I'm having the same exact problem and I think I'm using the most recent version of this program (1.9.2.15)

Under settings and Tags it explains what tags do (and I've made the tags in the tags tab) but not really how to apply/attach them to folders or files.

I don't understand much about the program in general but this problem I think is holding me back from using it the most.

I have libraries Synchronized and Indexing is on.

I tried left clicking, but there are no options for tagging that way, and I don't see anything on the right that will help me to tag because all it seems to be is a hierarchical structure and below that a search function and a filter function.
