Need for synchronizing?

Hi,

I've just started using AL after hearing about it along with the PRPC plugin for D|S, which I mostly use rather than Poser. I've started with 1.8.0.2. Seems to be great, and really useful.

I'm just puzzled by one thing. From what it said in the instructions, I understood it to say I'd have to synchronize again after every change of Poser or D|S content, which implied to me the program didn't pick up changes on its own. However, after synchronizing after adding my Runtimes and Content when I first started it, over the last two days it has been displaying the new content I've added and files I've saved without me having done another synchronizing. So when does it need to be resynchronized?

When synchronizing an index of files and folders is created. That index is used for the search and also for the tree of the synchronized library. If you're using the unsynchronized library tree, you'll also see files from newly added folders.
